Community Events

The Athens Athletics Club is proud to host several community events for a variety of ages and experience levels. We believe that the running and track & field communities are unlike any other and seek to bring that atmosphere to the Athens and Southeast Ohio region.

Athens Turkey Trot

Hosted annually on Thanksgiving morning, the Athens Turkey Trot features a flat and fast 5k course. Timing is provided by Southeast Ohio Trail Runners. Winners in each division receive a pumpkin pie, and all runners are encouraged to hang around post-race for hot chocolate and conversation! Learn More & Register for 2026.

July 4th Free Community Fun Run

Each year, the community is invited to join the AAC and Athens High School XC athletes for a free community 5k run or walk along the bike path followed by popsicles and good conversation!

Midsummer Mile Fest

A night of mile races on the track! Featuring races for all ages and experience levels, this event honors the most storied race distance in track & field history! View 2026 Results!

Wildwood Hometown Clinic

AAC was incredibly proud to be selected to host a Wildwood Hometown Clinic! The event was a free one-day event for female athletes (coaches and parents as well) featuring nationally recognized speakers presenting evidence-based research on topics that will include: Mental Performance, Confidence, RED-S & Bone Health, Team Building & Culture.
